TOKYO, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares closed lower Monday on the stronger yen as well as investors' lock-in of gains from last week.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 54.86 points, or 0.24 percent, from Friday at 22,495.99.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 3.83 points, or 0.22 percent, lower at 1,776.73.
Decliners were led by machinery, precision instrument and electric appliance issues.
The day's turnover was around 2,432.3 billion yen (21.86 billion U.S. dollars).
