TUNIS, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Libyan Foreign Minister Najla al-Mangoush arrived in Tunisia on Wednesday for a surprise visit that had not been previously announced, a source from the Tunisian ministry of Foreign Affairs told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The same source said that this was the first trip of the Libyan foreign minister since her rise to the head of diplomacy in the Government of National Unity led by Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.

The schedule of this visit included holding consultations with Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Othman Jerandi on bilateral relations.

According to the same source, the Libyan minister will also have a meeting with Tunisian President Kais Saied to discuss bilateral cooperation in various fields and a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

It is noteworthy that this visit came about 20 days after Tunisian president's visit to the Libyan capital, Tripoli, on March 17, the first official visit by a Tunisian head of state to Libya since 2012. Enditem
