Kirk Apesland, a vlogger from Canada, experienced a trip back to ancient times during the Lunar Chinese New Year in Nanning, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Kirk started posting videos on social media in 2018.

So far, he has 79,200 followers on YouTube and 60,000 on Chinese social media. Dressed in Chinese Han-style clothes, Kirk and his wife Liao Weifang walked in a 100-year-old alley while recording local people's New Year celebration in a traditional way. "The COVID-19 didn't stop people enjoying their Chinese New Year.

Everybody in China and all the Chinese people around the world are having fun at Spring Festival," Kirk said. He added that the Chinese government has taken effective measures to protect its people from the pandemic during the holiday.
