THE HAGUE, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Feyenoord led its first defeat of the 2020-21 season on Sunday at Vitesse, while Ajax and PSV continue to win in the Eredivisie.

After a series of 26 undefeated matches under coach Dick Advocaat, who started his term on October 30 last year, Feyenoord lost 1-0 at Vitesse in Arnhem.

Algerian striker Oussama Darfalou scored the winner in the 40th minute after Lois Openda had received a long ball from Riechedly Bazoer and put the ball aside.

Also on Sunday, league leaders and reigning champions Ajax booked an easy win at ADO Den Haag. At half-time, Ajax led 4-0 already through goals by Dusan Tadic, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (twice) and Zakaria Labyad. In the second half, ADO came back to 4-2 through goals by Michiel Kramer and Samy Bourard.

Ajax had a turbulent week with the arrest of Dutch international Quincy Promes on Sunday morning one week ago for allegedly stabbing a family member at a party in July last year.

The 28-year-old forward was released on Tuesday but remains a suspect in the case. He returned to the training pitch of Ajax on Wednesday and came on as a substitute for Ajax in the second half on Sunday in The Hague.

PSV also booked a comfortable 4-1 victory over RKC on Saturday. Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Ihattaren, Denzel Dumfries (penalty) and Noni Madueke scored for PSV, while Finn Stokkers found the net on behalf of the home-team in Waalwijk.

Also on Saturday, FC Groningen beat Sparta 3-2 in Rotterdam, FC Twente defeated VVV 2-1 in Venlo and FC Utrecht drew 1-1 against Fortuna Sittard. PEC Zwolle drew bottom-side FC Emmen 0-0 on Friday, and sc Heerenveen lost 2-1 at home to Heracles Almelo on Sunday.

After 13 rounds, Ajax lead the Eredivisie table with 33 points, followed by PSV with 30 points, Vitesse with 29 points, Feyenoord and FC Groningen with 26 points and FC Twente with 24 points. Enditem
