SUZHOU, China, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Tianjin Teda extended its winless run in the 14th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) here on Monday after a goalless draw with Wuhan Zall.
Wuhan Zall had no chances to enter the championship race after losing to Hebei China Fortune 2-0, while Tianjin enlarged its winless record to 13 games after being defeated by Qingdao Huanghai 3-0 before the match.
Both sides didn't pose any threat to the other and no goals were scored in the first half.
Tianjin once had a good chance to break the deadlock in the 56th minute when midfielder Che Shiwei was fouled by defender Cong Zhen in the penalty area. After a VAR check, the referee awarded Tianjin a penalty kick, but Ghana's striker Frank Acheampong failed to convert it to a goal.
Acheampong scored a goal in the 81st minute, but it was ruled out for offside.
After the result, Wuhan Zall ranks fifth with 17 points, while Tianjin remains the last without a single win in the Suzhou division. Enditem
