GAZA, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Three Palestinian workers disappeared on Monday as they were working inside a goods-smuggling tunnel underneath the borderline area between southern Gaza Strip and Israel, an interior official in Gaza said.
Eyad al-Bozom, spokesman of Gaza ministry of interior and national security, confirmed in an emailed press statement that the tunnel workers had disappeared.
"The Palestinian security forces are investigating their disappearance to know their fate," said al-Bozom, who declined to say whether they were kidnapped or just disappeared.
However, local sources in Rafah town said three Palestinian young men were kidnapped by Islamic State militants while they were working inside the tunnel underneath the borderline area between southern Gaza Strip and Egypt.
