SINGAPORE, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) dropping 0.49 percent or 16.02 points to close at 3,246.08.
A total of 2.05 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.01 billion Singapore dollars (about 738.27 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 231 to 208.
The STI index closed up 1.31 percent or 42.19 points to close at 3,262.10 Monday.
