SINGAPORE, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) declining 0.22 percent or 7.23 points to close at 3219.91.
A total of 2.27 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.34 billion Singapore dollars (about 984.18 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 215 to 184.
The STI index went down 0.28 percent or 9.01 points to close at 3227.14 on Thursday.
