SINGAPORE, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) rising 0.75 percent or 24.11 points to close at 3,236.15.
A total of 1.75 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.08 billion Singapore dollars (about 794.33 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 237 to 170.
The STI index went down 0.12 percent or 3.87 points to close at 3,212.04 on Tuesday.
