JAKARTA, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Deputy Chief of Indonesian National Police Commissioner General Syafruddin on Wednesday urged the world to boost cooperation and coordination in battle against terrorism.

Speaking at the 11st ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) in Manila of the Philippines, General Syafruddin said that the cooperation and coordination needs to be at the level of government to government or among government institutions, Indonesian online media Tempo.co reported.

The international cooperation would be in the forms of exchanging information, sharing perception and steps and boosting capacity of security authorities, the general said.

"This positively contributes to the efforts in fighting and mitigating transnational crimes, and also providing solution for the challenges," he was quoted as saying.

The 11th AMMTC of ASEAN is held on Sept. 18-21 in Manila.
