TOKYO, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Tuesday morning, with the benchmark Nikkei stock index dropping to a four-month intraday low, as heightened geopolitical tensions unsettled investors after the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired a missile over Japan.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 118.95 points, or 0.61 percent, from Monday to 19,330.95.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 4.33 points, or 0.27 percent, to 1,595.79.

Pulp and paper, insurance and securities-related stocks comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
