Chinese shares close mixed Friday

BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.13 percent to close at 3,067.35 points.

The Shenzhen index closed 0.27 percent lower at 10,640.42 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was down 0.48 percent to close at 2,170.86 points.

Turnover on the two bourses stood at 430.91 billion yuan (64.6 billion U.S. dollars).

Home appliance makers rallied. Gree Electric Appliances, the country's biggest air conditioner producer, jumped by the 10-percent daily limit to 19.49 yuan.

The real estate and banking sectors were also broadly higher. China Vanke, the country's biggest listed developer, rose 1.41 percent to 23.77 yuan. The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the biggest lender by market value, edged up 0.22 percent to 4.53 yuan.

Bucking the trend, oil producers weakened, with PetroChina down 0.27 percent to 7.47 yuan.
