President Xi Jinping has met with Myanmar's first State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi in Beijing.
Xi said he appreciated Suu Kyi's efforts to promote their bilateral relationship. He stressed China is willing to work with Myanmar on their comprehensive strategic partnership, and bring real benefits to the people of both countries. Xi said he hoped both sides could promote border peace, and improve their all-round cooperation.
Meanwhile, Suu Kyi said she values their friendship, and appreciates China's comprehensive support, adding that Myanmar is willing to work in their common interests. She also said she wanted to enhance the relationship between her party, the National League for Democracy, and the Chinese Communist Party.
