BEIJING, Aug.7 (Xinhuanet) -- A natural phenomenon called the 'blue tear' has appeared in the coastal waters of East China's Fujian Province, attracting a wave of tourists and amateur photographers. It's a chemical reaction caused when a certain algae in the water is disturbed. The algae is known as the "sea sparkle".
As the waves get stronger, the light spreads into a bright flash. The spectacular scene ran for four nights since it started last Saturday. The blue tear usually appears between 9 and 10 in the evening. The most amazing and long-lasting spectacle was on Monday and Tuesday.
