JAKARTA, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- After coordinating with related agencies and conducting some tests, Indonesian flight aviation supervisory agency said on Wednesday that eruption of Bali volcano, Mount Agung, would not affect flights serving the Indonesian resort island.

"There was no volcanic ash in I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport. Eruption of Mount Agung does not affect flights activities throughout Bali," Operation Director of Airnav Indonesia Wisnu Darjono said in a statement, referring to Bali international airport.

His statement came after his coordination with Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Agency (PVMBG) to analyze results of observation carried out by Darwin Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (DVAAC), one of world's nine reputable volcanic ash advisory center based in Australia.

Wisnu added that the test carried out around the airport also showed nil Volcanic Ash (VA).

He added that flights to Bali were still normal at present, adding that no single flight has been cancelled or re-routed.

Mount Agung erupted on Tuesday afternoon. Indonesian authorities downgraded its alert status to level 3 from highest alert of level 4 following indicators that showed no imminent danger from volcanic activities in the volcano.

Bali saw most devastating eruption of Mount Agung in 1963 that claimed more than 1,500 lives.
