JAKARTA, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian national beach volleyball team has set a target of entering the final in the Asia-Pacific Volleyball Championship in the country.
Head of beach volleyball department of the Indonesian Volleyball Association Slamet Mulyono said on Wednesday that the target was set based on the achievement of the Indonesian teams in the previous tournament where they went to final.
The Asia-Pacific beach volleyball tournament kicked off on Wednesday at the Jakabaring sport stadium in Palembang, the country's provincial capital of South Sumatra, and will end on Oct. 22.
"Indonesia, host of the tournament, will deploy three best pairs male and female," he was quoted by Antara news agency in Palembang.
The tournament would be a test for the Indonesian teams which will compete in the 18th Asian Games next year in the country, he added.
