Vietnam whitewash Cambodia in Asian Cup qualifier

HANOI, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's national football squad on Tuesday beat Cambodia 5-0 in an Asian Cup qualifying match in Hanoi capital city.

At My Dinh National Stadium, Vietnamese audience stood up to cheer the home team in the 13th, the 56th, the 60th, the 76th and the 90th minutes of the game.

After the match, Vietnamese interim coach Mai Duc Chung left the squad, and South Korean Changwon FC coach Park Hang-seo took over.

Park vowed to lead the Vietnamese squad to certain success at the Asian Cup 2019 and Olympic Tokyo 2020.

In Asian Cup 2019's Group C, Vietnam is scheduled to clash with Afghanistan on Nov. 14 in Hanoi, and with Jordan on March 27, 2018 in Amman.
