Host Indonesia to stage 40 sports in 18th Asian Games

JAKARTA, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Host Indonesia will stage a total of 40 sports in the 18th Asian Games next year, a report said here on Tuesday.

The decision was made after the country reached a deal with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Ashgabat of Turmenistan days ago, Juara.com reported.

The 18th Asian Games is scheduled to be held in Jakarta and Palembang city, the capital of South Sumatra province from Aug. 18 to Sept. 2, 2018.

More than 11,000 athletes and officials from 45 countries and regions would participate in the international sport event, according to the committee.
