BERLIN, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- German construction costs reached a new high in August, with the construction industry's revenue growing markedly, figures published Tuesday by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) showed.
According to the Wiesbaden-based government agency, the cost of new conventionally constructed housing rose by 3.1 percent in August from a year ago.
"This is the steepest price increase since August 2008," a report from the FSO said.
The construction industry saw an 8-percent annual jump in revenue in July, it added.
