6.1-magnitude quake hits 153km NW of Pangai, Tonga -- USGS

HONG KONG, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale jolted 153km NW of Pangai, Tonga at 14:04:38 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 19.0132 degrees south latitude and 175.5559 degrees west longitude.
