NEW DELHI, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- At least four persons were killed and five others injured in a road accident in the western Indian state of Rajasthan Saturday, police said.
"The accident occurred this morning when a vehicle in which the victims were travelling collided head-on with a speeding truck on Fatehpur-Sikar highway near the Pinjrapole Gaushala village," a senior police official said.
While four persons died on the spot, those injured have been admitted to a local hospital where the condition of some are said to be serious, the official said. "All the victims were laborers," he added.
A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official said, adding that efforts are on to nab the driver of the truck who fled the spot after the accident.
