WASHINGTON, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- A U.S. airman has died in Kuwait in a non-combat-related incident, said the U.S. Department of Defense on Thursday.
The man, 49, died on Wednesday in the Gulf country while deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, according to a Pentagon statement.
The service member was assigned to the 130th Airlift Wing at McLaughlin Air National Guard Base in West Virginia.
No further details about the incident have been given in the statement.
The Operation Inherent Resolve was the U.S.-led military campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
