TOKYO, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks gained Monday morning as a rise in U.S. shares at the end of last week following robust jobs data for June coupled with the yen's retreat against the U.S. dollar lifted the market mood.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 135.96 points, or 0.68 percent, from Friday to 20,065.05.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 7.65 points, or 0.48 percent, to 1,614.71.
Marine transportation, air transportation and electric appliance-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
