A railway linking Fuzhou and Pingtan in east China's Fujian Province began trial operation on Monday. With a designed speed of 200 km per hour, the 88 km-long railway will be put into use by the end of 2020. About 79 percent of the Fuzhou-Pingtan railway consists of tunnels and bridges, including the world's longest cross-sea road-rail bridge, Pingtan Strait Road-rail Bridge.
