TALLINN, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas on Tuesday met here with her Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez to discuss issues concerning bilateral relations, defense cooperation, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and migration policy.

"Never before has there been such close communication between Estonia and Spain. Relationships must be maintained in the future as well," said Kallas, quoted by a government press release.

"We share the same values and are united by a similar mindset on most key EU and international issues, we are open to innovation and we think green," Kallas added.

After the meeting, the two prime ministers held a joint press conference at the Estonian government office.

"We celebrate the centenary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Estonia and Spain with the firm commitment to deepen them even more. At the bilateral level and also at NATO and the EU, there is a long way to go together," Sanchez said on social media.

Sanchez is scheduled to meet respectively with Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid and Estonian parliament speaker Juri Ratas on Wednesday. Enditem
