BERLIN, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Schalke rallied back twice before Amine Harit's winner sealed all three points on the road against Augsburg at the close of the 10th round in Bundesliga on Sunday.

After three winless games, Schalke returned to winning ways and inflicted on relegation-threatened Augsburg the fifth loss of the season.

The "Fuggerstadter" started offensively minded in the encounter and tested Schalke goalkeeper Alexander Nubel through Florian Niederlechner, who unleashed a promising effort from seven meters in the 27th minute.

Augsburg's efforts paid off ten minutes later when Daniel Baier curled home from 20 meters to finish off Marco Richter's build-up work.

Schalke was unable to implement their strategy and staged an uninspired performance before Stephan Lichtensteiner's own goal restored parity for the "Royal Blues" against the run of the game in the closing period of the first half.

After the restart, Augsburg handed over control but was still able to grab the lead again at the hour mark when Bastian Oczipka's handball inside the box gave Alfred Finnbogason the chance to beat Nubel with the subsequent penalty.

It was a short-lived joy for the hosts as Schalke bounced back once again in the 71st minute after Ozan Kabak nodded home Daniel Caligiuri's free-kick cross into the area.

To make things worse for Augsburg, Schalke were not done with the scoring and capitalized on Reece Oxford's misplaced back pass, which allowed Harit to chip the ball past Augsburg custodian Tomas Koubek with eight minutes remaining.

The fifth win of the season lifts Schalke on the 6th position meanwhile Augsburg falls to 16th place, which is a relegation playoff spot.

Elsewhere, Fortuna Dusseldorf won the Rhine derby after edging rivals Cologne 2-0 on the goals from Rouwen Hennings and Erik Thommy. Dusseldorf moves on the 13th spot of the Bundesliga standings while Cologne slumped on the 17th position, which is a direct relegation spot.
