U.S. wins four golds, sets new records in FINA World Junior C'ships

BUDAPEST, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- The United States dominated the podium on day 2 of the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Budapest on Wednesday, winning four golds among ten medals, and rewriting a junior world record in the mixed 4x100m medley relay.

U.S. swimmers took golds in the women's 200m butterfly, men's 200m freestyle, men's 200m medley and mixed 4x100m medley relay, also clinching a championship tournament record in the men's 200m medley in 1:58.46.

The team proved their strength by setting a new world record in the mixed relay with 3:44.84, followed by Russia who tapped home just 0.14 seconds ahead of Canada after a tense battle.

Among other teams, Italy snatched two titles, Russia clinched four medals and Canada took three, one of each color.
