NANNING, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Xia Xuanze, the badminton singles head coach of the Chinese team, said Saturday at Sudirman Cup pre-match press conference that the Chinese team to attend 2019 Sudirman Cup is relatively young, yet those young players are more aggressive and will go all out to play every game.

With Lin Dan, Li Xuerui and Zhang Nan absent, whether the young Chinese team can successfully win the cup has become the focus of the tournament. In response, Xia said: "The young team has its own advantages. They are more aggressive in the field. We will go all out to play a good game." Xia also wished Malaysian star Lee Chong Wei a speedy recovery at the press conference.

This year, China is not only challenged by long-time opponents South Korea and Indonesia, but also a rising power Japan. Xia said they will be sure to meet some pressure in the match, but the Chinese badminton team is actively preparing and adjusting. "Our players have been through a lot of games and I believe they will be able to turn pressure into motivation and play every game well," added he.

Talking the upcoming Sudirman Cup, Jia Yifan said that the last Sudirman Cup is the first big event she played. "After two years of competition, I get more experiences and will try to play the best state," said Jia. Jia won the women's doubles final at the 2019 Asian Badminton Championships in April.

Host China will open their Sudirman Cup campaign against Malaysia on Sunday.
