BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhua) -- China's central government has allocated a fund of 100 million yuan (about 15 million U.S. dollars) to address the adverse impact of natural disasters in Qinghai Province.

The fund, allocated via the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Emergency Management, will be used to help local residents affected by heavy snow in places including Yushu and Guoluo in the province.

Since December 2018, heavy snows and temperature drops have made it difficult for local farmers and herdsmen to make ends meet.

Fodder shortage caused many livestock deaths. As a result, the Ministry of Emergency Management has started a level IV emergency response for disaster relief in the affected areas and dispatched working groups to guide disaster relief in Qinghai.

Disaster relief work is proceeding in an orderly manner so far, and living and working conditions of local people are returning to normal, according to the Ministry of Emergency Management.
