BERLIN, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Willi Orban's last-gasp equalizer helped RB Leipzig snatch a point against Hoffenheim on Monday night, in the final Bundesliga game of the league's matchday 23.

Hoffenheim assumed control from the kick-off, whereas Leipzig lacked pace in the first 45 minutes.

It took Hoffenheim 17 minutes before they saw their first shot on target, as Pavel Kaderabek tested Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.

Gulacsi was hapless five minutes later when the Hungarian could only parry Joelinton's shot, allowing Andrej Kramaric to slot home the rebound from close range.

After the restart, Leipzig assumed control and pressed the visitors onto the back foot as Orban's header forced Oliver Baumann into action before Matheus Cunha pulled wide from a promising position in the 61st minute.

The hosts remained on the front foot as Lukas Klostermann missed the target while Marcel Sabitzer saw his 80th minute effort blocked.

Hoffenheim focussed on fast breaks and should have doubled their lead but Adam Szalai squandered the chance to put the result beyond doubt in the closing minutes.

Leipzig punished the visitors for their profligacy in the 89th minute as Marcel Halstenberg's low cross into the box found Orban, who tapped home the equalizer from close range to secure one point on home soil.

The result means Hoffenheim stay in eighth position, while Leipzig hold onto fourth place in the standings.
