Zhejiang Guangsha stop 2-game CBA losing streak

XI'AN, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Zhejiang Guangsha beat Guangzhou Longlions 102-88 to end their two-game losing streak in the 21st round of Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA) on Wednesday.

Longlions made a 14-2 spurt to start the match on home turf, however, Courtney Fortson made 12 points to help the visitors cut it to eight in the first quarter.

After Marreese Speights scored time and again to the cheers of the home fans, Fortson made a pair of free throws to turn the tide 42-41 with four minutes and 11 seconds to go in the second quarter.

Yet, Longlions still led 50-47 into the second half after Shirelijan Muxtar dished out two assists.

Following a tug-of-war in the third quarter, Speights became exhausted and was unable to stop the home side from losing the match, despite his game-high 37 points as well as 21 rebounds and three assists.

In other games, Guo Ailun made 21 points and 12 assists to guide Liaoning Hengye Leopard to beat Qingdao Double Star Eagle 124-113 for their 10th straight win, while Guangdong Winnerway defeated Zhejiang Chouzhou 103-97 to remain at the top of CBA standings. Enditem
