Indian movie "2.0" to be released in China next year

NEW DELHI, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Bollywood movie "2.0" which is turning into a great hit in India will soon release in China in 56,000 screens, including 47,000 3D screens, according to local media.

According to a tweet by a Indian entertainment company, Lyca Productions, the dubbed and subtitled versions are scheduled for release in China in 10,000 theaters sometime in May next year.

Being described as one of the biggest films in terms of production cost, the superhero movie has Rajnikanth, Akshay Kumar and British actress Amy Jackson playing the lead roles.

Movie music is given by two-time Oscar-winner music composer A.R. Rahman.

Indian movies are fast gaining popularity in China. A couple of years back, "3 Idiots" and "Dangal" that Amir Khan starred in were a big hit in China grossing 193 million U.S. dollars.

The success of Indian movies in China is basically attributed to the stories of these movies which are based on themes that resonate in China like the education system, women's rights, relations within families and domestic violence.
