HOUSTON, April 6 (Xinhua) -- The world stability needs good relationship between the United States and China, U.S. congressman Al Green said here on Friday.

Green made the remarks when giving a speech at 2018 America-China Real Estate Forum held in Houston. Green said that the relationship between U.S. and China is vitally important,

"This relationship is the one that will not only develop great business opportunities for the citizens of both of these great nations, but I think there is something that is even more important. It is the opportunity to develop the stability that we need in the world," he said.

Talking about the Chinese delegation coming for the forum, Green said this kind of communication and exchange can help both nations create business opportunities that benefit the world.

"You have the extraordinary opportunity to help us make sure that these two great nations continue to work together so that we can not only benefit the United States, not only benefit China, but also benefit the world because the world needs a good relationship between China and the U.S," he said.

Commenting the on-going trade tension, Green said he is not in favor of tariffs. "I don't favor trade wars. I favor an opportunity for us to do business."

Co-organized by Asian Real Estate Association of America and China Real Estate Association, the 2018 forum focuses on city planning and livability for aging population.

After Houston, two sub-forums will be hosted in Seattle, the U.S. and Vancouver, Canada, respectively.
