SEOUL, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's automobile exports, production and sales in the domestic market declined last month on weak demand at home and abroad, a government report showed Tuesday.

Auto exports stood at 237,083 vehicles in November, down 8 percent from 257,563 units tallied a year ago, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

In terms of value, car exports increased 3.4 percent over the year to 4.07 billion U.S. dollars last month on the back of higher prices for luxury models.

Auto parts exports tumbled 10.8 percent to 1.97 billion dollars as local carmakers increased production in overseas factories.

Auto production in the country retreated 8 percent to 382,034 units in November as demand got weak for locally-made models at home and abroad.

Auto sales in the domestic market dipped 1.2 percent to 166,339 units last month. Domestic car sales reduced 2.6 percent to 139,592 vehicles, but imported car sales increased 8.4 percent to 23,747 units.
