5.3-magnitude quake hits 81 km NNE of Hihifo, Tonga -- USGS

NEW YOKR, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted 81km NNE of Hihifo, Tonga at 23:10:00 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 15.2603 degrees south latitude and 173.4744 degrees west longitude.
