Tokyo shares fall in morning on weaker U.S. stocks

TOKYO, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares fell Wednesday morning tracking Wall Street losses overnight.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 202.50 points, or 0.90 percent, from Tuesday to 22,419.88.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 10.00 points, or 0.56 percent, to 1,780.97.

Decliners were led by nonferrous metal, securities and mining issues.
