BANGKOK, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- A man was killed by a three-meter long python in his house in central Thailand's Sukhothai Province, local media reported on Tuesday.
According to Sanook News, the 55-year-old man was trying to get the python out of a jar where he had kept the reptile. With a slip the snake bit him on the hand and coiled around him.
His 63-year-old sister heard him crying for help and rushed to the scene. She tried to pull the the snake from her brother all out but failed. As a result, she helplessly watched as the man was crushed to death by the huge snake.
Local media said the snake was captured by the man and put kept in an earthen water jar underneath his house.
The victim's neighbors arrived in later, recapturing the reptile and put it in a sack.
Many parts of Thailand are reportedly under snake threat. Central Thailand's low-lying geography makes it prone to floods during rainy season, which also invites snakes and other reptiles.
As snakes are rampant, a municipality even posted a training video for residents instructing them how to catch a snake.
