Sevilla coach Berizzo to have cancer operation on Tuesday

MADRID, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Sevilla football club on Monday confirmed that coach Eduardo Berizzo will undergo an operation on his prostate cancer on Tuesday November 28th.

The 48-year-old was confirmed being suffered from cancer last Wednesday following his side's fightback from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 in the Champions League at home to Liverpool.

Berizzo was still in the Sevilla dugout on Sunday as his side produced another fightback, coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2 away to Villarreal to strengthen their grip on fifth place in the Liga Santander.

Sevilla have confirmed that Berizzo's assistant, Ernesto Marcucci will take temporary charge of the club until the coach is in condition to return to work.
