TOKYO, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar climbed to the mid-111 yen zone Friday in Tokyo on expectations that the Bank of Japan (BOJ) will continue its monetary easing policies.
At 5 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 111.41-43 yen compared with 111.15-25 yen in London at 4 p.m. Thursday. It moved between 111.20 yen and 111.56 yen during the day.
The euro fetched 1.1847-1848 dollars and 131.99-03 yen against 1.1835-1845 dollars and 131.65-70 yen in London late Thursday afternoon.
Japanese and U.S. markets were closed Thursday due to national holidays.
