HOUSTON, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- The stockpile of commercial crude oil in the United States took a dip before the Thanksgiving holiday, local newspaper reported Thursday.
The country's commercial crude inventories fell by 1.9 million barrels from last week, as oil exports picked up and refineries churned oil into gasoline for the busy holiday driving season.
Gasoline stocks stayed flat from last week, but jet fuel and some other refined products saw their inventories grow. So overall petroleum stockpiles essentially stayed the same from last week.
While crude oil inventories declined, reactions from energy analysts were mixed because an industry trade group, American Petroleum Institute, had projected a larger crude draw-down.
