PYONGYANG, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), has called on his nationals to display a spirit of self-reliance in their endeavor for economic development, the DPRK's official media reported on Tuesday.
During a recent visit to a motor factory here, Kim said motor production is key for the country's economic development.
Kim watched the trucks in the factory "with a bright smile on his face," reported the Korean Central News Agency.
Kim also personally drove a truck to learn in detail about its performance and technical specifications, said the report.
The DPRK is under tough U.N. sanctions adopted to check its nuclear and missile development.
