ISLAMABAD, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- At least 15 bullet-riddled bodies were recovered in Pakistan's southwestern district of Turbat on Wednesday, an official said.
Jamil Ahmed, assistant commissioner of the area, said that the bodies were found in Bolida area of Turbat, a district in the country's southwest Balochistan province.
According to the official, the victims were kidnapped by some unknown miscreants earlier from the area and were taken to a mountain's top where they were shot dead.
The deceased belonged to different parts of the country's eastern Punjab province, said the official, adding that the victims were trying to go to Europe illegally though Iran, bordering Pakistan.
Police, security forces, and rescue teams reached the site of the incident and shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital in Turbat.
Security forces cordoned off the site and kicked off an investigation into the incident and launched a search operation in the surrounding areas to arrest the miscreants.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
