MADRID, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Former members of the Catalan Bureau of the Chamber appeared at Spanish High Court on Thursday to be questioned over the charges of rebellion, sedition and misuse of funds, local media reported.

Former Speaker of the Catalan parliament, Carme Forcadell, is being questioned by the judge Pablo Llarena one week after her first appearance along with other members of the Bureau of Chamber.

They were summoned on Nov. 2 and were allowed to have a week to prepare their defense. The prosecutor accused them of having a "radical behavior against the constitution."

The Catalan parliament declared unilaterally the independence of the region from Spain on Oct. 27, a declaration that has been annulled by Spain's Constitutional Court.

Former members of the regional government of Catalonia are in prison without bail for considering possibility of fleeing and destroying evidence.
