HAIKOU, China, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Italian rider Jacopo Mosca from Wilier Triestina cycling team won the seventh stage of Tour of Hainan on Friday, beating Spanish rider Benjami Prades from Ukyo cycling team. This was his first stage win in this event.

As Mosca's teammate, Jakub Mareczko, former owner of yellow jersey, was able to keep the green jersey representing the best sprinter.

Sam Crome from Team Isowhey Sports Swisswellness took the polka-dot jersey from Vitaliy Buts of Kolss cycling team. Chinese rider Liu Jianpeng from Hengxiang cycling team keeps the blue jersey representing the best Asian rider.

"At first we tried very hard helping Mareczko, we hoped that he could keep his yellow jersey, but today he had trouble keeping up with the peloton, so I took my offensive in the last slope and finally got the first place. There are two stages left, we will try our best to keep this yellow jersey," Mosca said after the ride.

The next stage stretched from Wuzhishan to Lingshui, covering a total distance of 197.4 kilometers.
