MINSK, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Belarus' external public debt increased by 19.5 percent in the first nine months of this year, the Belarusian Finance Ministry said on Tuesday.
From January to September 2017, Belarus' external public debt rose by 2.7 billion U.S. dollars, totally reaching 16.3 billion U.S. dollars, the Ministry said.
Since the beginning of the year, Belarus has attracted external state loans in the amount of 3.4 billion U.S. dollars. Most of the money was borrowed as eurobonds (1.4 billion U.S. dollars), as well as from the Russian government and banks (1.1 billion U.S. dollars).
Belarus spent 821.1 million U.S. dollars to repay its external debt in the first three quarters. Enditem
