CAIRO, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil on Tuesday announced the first industrial investment map in Egypt in an attempt to improve the country's ailing economy and attract more investments.
"The map included 4,136 investment opportunities in eight industrial sectors," said Kabil in a press conference.
The map covers engineering, chemical and textile industries, he pointed out.
Kabil said that "the map is the first of its kind in Egypt."
It will strengthen the industrial sectors and limit the markets gaps, rationalize the importations, as well as increasing the added value of the local products, the minister added.
Around 200 engineers and technicians made inspection tours of more than 100 industrial areas nationwide to collect their data, he pointed out.
