SINGAPORE, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) rising 0.28 percent or 9.21 points to close at 3,343.88.
A total of 1.83 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.14 billion Singapore dollars (about 836.16 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 245 to 175.
The STI index closed down 0.45 percent or 15.13 points to close at 3,334.67 Tuesday.
