GAZA, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- The security apparatuses of Islamic Hamas movement in Gaza arrested Noor Eassa, a top Islamic State (IS) leader and three others in southern Gaza Strip, a Hamas-run interior ministry spokesman said Saturday.

Eyad al-Bozzom told reporters that the interior security forces arrested at midnight Eassa and three others in the town of Rafah in southern Gaza Strip, adding that the four had been wanted by the security forces for more than a year.

Eassa and the three others belong to a group close to IS called Ahfad Bayt el-Maqdes, which was involved in firing rockets from Gaza into Israel in the past few months.

Security sources in Rafah town said the four, including Eassa were arrested at a security forces checkpoint in Rafah town. Eassa has been in Libya, fighting with IS and came back to the Gaza Strip last year, according to the sources.
