SUVA, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Samoa's Prime Minister Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi is now in New Zealand for medical treatment.
According to Radio New Zealand on Thursday, the prime minister was admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Apia, capital of Samoa, on Wednesday afternoon, and a source confirmed that he was transported by an air ambulance to New Zealand on Wednesday night.
The website of the Samoa Observer also confirmed the news, saying that Tuila'epa was attending the parliamentary seminar at Taumeasina Island Resort when he fell ill.
But the prime minister's office of Samoa said that Tuila'epa was fine, he was just in hospital for a regular checkup and there was nothing for the public to worry about.
Currently, information is unavailable about the condition of Tuila'epa, who was born in 1945.
