LONDON, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.90 percent, or 66.08 points, to close at 7,438.84 points.
EasyJet, a British budget airline, soared 5.18 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Barratt Developments and Persimmon increased by 4.23 percent and 4.18 percent, respectively.
The international private hospital group Mediclinic International was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.08 percent. CRH, an Irish building materials business, dropped 0.92 percent. ITV, a British media company, fell 0.80 percent. Enditem
